Sunrise Café - Lakewood

I stopped in for a cup of coffee and decided to have a light breakfast. The menu has a wide variety from open-faced turkey sandwiches with mashed potatoes, smothered in gravy to chilaquiles. All the food that passed by looked and smelled amazing and the portions were generous. I love to support locally owned and operated businesses. With their price point, customer service and menu offerings, Sunrise is definitely going to be one of my new go-to places in Lakewood/Long Beach, CA area.

I highly Recommend this place for breakfast... I ordered the ABC omelette, which is avocado, bacon and cheese. It was delicious. The prices aren't bad either and the portions are huge. You get your food really fast and everybody that works there is very nice. Try it for yourself you will not be disappointed!!

Amazing food!! Definitely taste like home made cooking, needless to say the portions are SUPER! Definitely worth the price and the customer service is SUPER. Our 1st time coming & Definitely will be back again...

Visiting Long Beach and saw near the airport. Good food, quick friendly service. Not the prettiest place for sure but sometimes a decent meal is what you want. Good for the little ones as they have a train running above the perimeter of the walls. Small line of people waiting outside so that was a good sign. If you're looking for a good meal and dont mind the modest surroundings, Sunrise is a good stop.

I recently stopped by Sunrise Cafe and had a great breakfast experience that truly stood out. I ordered the Popeye omelet, homemade biscuit with homemade strawberry jelly, and potatoes. I honestly enjoyed the entire breakfast, but if I had to choose a favorite, it would definitely be the potatoes. They were cooked exactly how I like them—some soft, some crispy, and seasoned just right. The biscuit was fluffy and comforting, the strawberry jelly tasted fresh and genuinely homemade, and the omelet was good overall—just slightly more oily than my personal preference, but still flavorful and filling. The service was excellent. I was greeted and seated immediately, and the restaurant was very clean and very welcoming. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and a unique touch was the train that circles the restaurant, which adds charm and character to the space. To top it all off, I was working during my visit, and other customers generously paid for my breakfast, which was incredibly kind and truly appreciated. Overall, Sunrise Cafe delivered delicious food, great service, and a memorable experience. I would absolutely return and highly recommend this spot for a comforting, feel-good breakfast.

Agree with previous reviews! While running quick errands to Walmart & gas before airport, found this small diner. Lovely staff. Food is surprisingly light, good & reasonably priced. They offer grits, rice or potatoes with breakfast!

Oh yes !!! We got in right at 8am before holiday Labor Day rush and it was delightful. No notes Tried chilaquiles and the egg and pancake breakfast . The coffee refills were piping hot and frequent . Classic Dinner vibes and servers had great energy We will be back to try more things
